USA RANKS HIGH AMONG 90 DELEGATES AT Miss Earth 2022





21 year old Brielle Simmons of New York receives three prestigious international awards as Korea goes home with the 22nd Miss Earth title





November 30, 2022. Manila, Philippines – Brielle Simmons of New York represented the United States during the most recent Miss Earth competition, including weeks of pre-pageant activities and travels to three Philippines islands. While taking home several prestigious awards, the ultimate winner is South Korea's Mina Sue Choi.


On November 29, nearly 90 delegates took to the stage for the grand coronation of the 22nd annual Miss Earth competition in Manila. USA's awards include Best in Environmental Attire Presentation, Bronze Medal in Long Gown and Bronze Medal in Beachwear.


The most coveted title of Miss Earth was captured by 24-year old university student Mina Sue Choi of South Korea. The additional two crowns earned were Miss Earth Air Sheridan Mortlock, Miss Earth Water Nadeen Ayoub of Palestine and Miss Earth Fire Andrea Aguilera of Colombia.


Simmons's attire was provided by designers including final gown by Benj Leguiab of the Philippines, swimwear and national costume by Pixton Design Group of North Carolina, environmental attire by Bibian Blue of Spain, and jewelry by Crown Jewel Designs of Colorado. Preliminary attire was provided by That's My Dress retailer in Virginia and Marc DeFang New York in North Carolina.


In 2020, USA’s representative Lindsey Coffey of Pennsylvania was awarded the ultimate prize of Miss Earth. Coffey continues to be part of the United States national organization as a host and judge.


Based in the Philippines, Miss Earth® delegates serve their nations as Beauties for a Cause™, conducting ecological impact projects in their home countries. Miss Earth empowers women through community leadership, eco-tourism, and environmental education. It is recognized as the globe’s most relevant pageant, and in the United States has been named best national pageant by several American media networks.


Current Miss Earth USA Brielle Simmons is a student at St. John’s University in New York City, majoring in Legal Studies with a focus on Environmental Law. She is the co-founder of the non-profit organization Bringing Me Sunshine, dedicated to combating homelessness and poverty by providing environmental resources to children and families. In 2019, Simmons placed Top 4 at the Teen Miss Earth USA competition.


As Miss Earth USA, Simmons is awarded prizes, travel and endorsements valued at over $100,000. She serves as spokesperson for We Clean Trails, the Still She Rose mental health initiative, Central Florida Animal Reserve and other conservation efforts. Additionally, Simmons will have many fashion and media opportunities such as Miami Swim Week and New York Fashion Week.
