ELEMENTARY STUDENTS PRACTICE ECO FRIENDLY HABITS WITH MISS EARTH USA

Miss Earth USA and Miss Earth USA Eco spend time with elementary school students in Kentucky

Louisville, KY, March 16, 2023 - Miss Earth USA titleholders are known as "Beauties for a Cause" with the mission to educate and inspire others to adopt sustainable habits. This week, Danielle Mullins and national elemental titleholder Gracie Pfaff of Tennessee visited a Kentucky elementary school to work directly with children.

GET TO KNOW DANIELLE

Stopping by Blake Elementary in Louisville, Kentucky, the two titleholders introduced projects and discussed the topics of recycling, pollinators and gardening. The children were able to create newspaper planters with flowers by wrapping paper around a can of food to create the planter, fill with soil, and plant seeds. The children took home these planters to watch their work grow into flowers.

“It was an honor sharing the importance of environmental stewardship with the students at Blake Elementary," said Pfaff. "Seeing their faces light up to make biodegradable planters and learn about pollinators and the importance of plant life was truly special.”

Pfaff is one of four elemental national titleholders of Miss Earth USA. As a Top 5 pageant finalist, she and the other elemental titleholders are crowned and encouraged to work with the national program throughout the year.

MEET ELEMENTAL TITLEHOLDERS

Miss Earth USA Danielle Mullins will continue visiting schools as the lead spokesmodel of the organization. In Fall 2023, Mullins will represent the United States at the Miss Earth 23rd annual international pageant to be held in Vietnam.

“Our youth is the key to saving our planet!" says Mullins. "Teaching them now the little things we can do to make a difference, showing them how easy it is, and how much fun it can be, will be what encourages a new generation of change!"

In addition to getting into schools and communities, the Miss Earth USA organization features a Junior Ambassador pageant program. Girls age 5-14 are encouraged to lead community environmental projects, get experience in public speaking and confidence building activities, and meet mentors like Danielle and Gracie through the state and national pageant.

Recognized as a charitable organization with 501(C)(3) tax exempt status, the pageant’s nonprofit B4ACUSA Foundation provides scholarships and grants to participants. Each of the state delegates conducts home state environmental projects and brings awareness to local issues and organizations.
