Brielle Simmons, Miss Earth USA 2022 of New York, NY, is the official candidate for the 2022 Miss Earth Pageant based in the Philippines.
Recognized as one of the largest international pageant organizations, MISS EARTH® focuses on empowering women, promoting eco-tourism and aiding environmental causes. Each year, delegates from around the globe known as BEAUTIES FOR A CAUSE® represent their unique nations during the highly anticipated competition. This year’s coronation takes place on November 29 in Manila, Philippines.
This year’s theme “ME Loves Fauna” promotes the care of animal life as essential members of the environment. Miss Earth USA has chosen to increase awareness for the monarch butterfly. As of summer 2022, this species is classified as endangered. Due to habitat loss, climate change, forest destruction and use of pesticides, the monarch population is steadily declining. Action that can help restore habitats for monarch butterflies include rebuilding forests and government regulations on pesticide use.
