With over 8.5 million YouTube subscribers, VICE Media is a worldwide platform, empowering creators to push the world forward. On Earth Day weekend, VICE released its documentary produced by Katie Tutrone, featuring Miss Earth USA and the beauty pageant industry.

The 20-minute program follows three Miss Earth USA candidates, visiting their hometowns and documenting behind the scenes at the national pageant in January 2023. Cameras captured judge dialogue, interviews with multiple candidates regarding their views on environmentalism and the realities of the pageant industry.

The Miss Earth USA organization includes five competition divisions for ages 5 and older. With state pageant preliminaries taking place in Summer 2023, the next national pageant will be held in January 2024. Miss Earth USA has consistently been ranked to the top of pageantry in the United States and Miss Earth is known as a Top 3 worldwide pageant, based in the Philippines. The program emphasizes their motto Beauties for a Cause, impacting environmental issues around the country while also integrating a mental health and wellness initiative for all women and girls.
