June 5, 2024, Washington, D.C. - The Miss Earth USA organization will soon arrive in Puerto Rico for the annual mission trip supported by the nonprofit entity Beauties for a Cause the B4ACUSA Foundation 501(C)3.
Miss Earth USA ambassadors dedicate one domestic mission trip each year to aid in the most pressing environmental issues within our country. This trip includes state and national delegates who reached the incentive levels of annual giving for the nonprofit in the prior year.
The most recent organization visit to Puerto Rico took place in 2019, and this year's volunteers are excited to return to experience the island's unique natural habitat. Volunteers attending include the reigning Miss Earth USA Beatrice Millan-Windorski of Wisconsin, reigning Miss Earth USA Fire Sydney Hella of Colorado, 2023 state titleholders Jaimye Lynn Wininger of South Dakota and Eugenia Zhang of Connecticut. Organization President Laura Clark and Nonprofit Director Ariel Sorensen will also attend.

Volunteers will spend time with the local Para la Naturaleza nonprofit organization to aid in island clean up and brush removal. The organization manages visitor centers and natural protected areas, including Hacienda Buena Vista in Ponce, Hacienda La Esperanza in Manati and Cabezas de San Juan in Fajardo, among others.
The attendees will also experience the wonder and beauty of the area, including Bioluminescence Bay tour via kayak and hiking through El Yunque National Rainforest. Characterized by its lush and diverse landscape, abundant rainfall, and unique topography, these visits will provide our group the opportunity to witness biodiversity, flora and fauna, as well as potential glimpses of the endangered Puerto Rican parrot and the Coquí tree frog.
We extend our gratitude to all of the ambassadors and partners who contributed to the 2023 annual campaign via the B4ACUSA 501(C)(3) Foundation, enabling our small group of volunteers to travel and complete the work of our mission.
